Shakila Yasmin is an academician serving the premier business school of Bangladesh, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka since 2005. She is currently working as an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the BBA program at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). She teaches courses on Finance and Supply Chain Management. She marked footsteps in versatile areas of business research and consultancy work which include Corporate Finance, Strategic Planning, Employee Motivation, Gender Divide in Work Place and Green Business Model.
Shakila got academic training from diverse top ranking universities in home and abroad. She graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2000 with a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Later she did MBA with major in Finance from IBA, Dhaka University. She did another MBA with concentration in Organization Studies from Schulich School of Business, Canada. She also got training on doing research on gender issues in organization from the Gender, Feminist and Women Studies department at York University, Canada.
Shakila has keen interest to serve the community. Her community initiatives include advising the Bangladesh chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organizations, Global Student Entrepreneurship Award, participating in the Group Study Exchange Program of Rotary International and working as one of the award leaders of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program, Dhaka.
